| Al Pettiway and Amy White |
Amy began joining Al on several of his performances in Maryland circa 1995. The two built a strong repertoire of original and traditional compositions. Amy began playing musical chairs with musical instruments, adding an ever-changing texture to their performances. Soon after, they collaborated, co-wrote material for and co-produced each other's last two award-winning solo albums: Midsummer Moon, Caledon Wood, Piano Diaries and Bittersweet.
In 1995, Amy and Al received the Washington Area Music Association Award (WAMMIE) for Best New Artist. They received the 1996, 1997, 1998,1999 & 2000 WAMMIEs for Best New Age Group, and the 1998 & 1999 WAMMIEs for Best Irish/Celtic Duo. Their first formal "duo" CD "Racing Hearts" won the 2000 WAMMIE for Best New Age Recording. And both Amy & Al have been awarded several Individual Artist Grants from the Maryland State Arts Council for their instrumental performance and music compositions.
