Current Featured DVD: Rob Roy in the wake of the success of Braveheat, this movie based on one of Sir Walter Scott's Waverley-era novels was mostly overlooked. In telling the story of the daring Scottish rebel it stands as a great historical drama, however. Get the original novel by Sir Walter Scott Besides the exciting action, beautiful vistas and top-notch acting; the film got 18th century Scottish costumes mostly right. Braveheart by comparison was a great film but its costumes were far from accurate portrayals of the leine and brat worn by highlanders of the period. Rob Roy is a wonderful film adaptation of one of the great Scottish novels -- an under-rated gem.
