Irish ex-patriot Gillie McPherson may call France home now, but Erin continues to inspire the music she performs with the new trio she joined with Patrick Chanal and Paul Habourdin. The French region of Rhone alpes may not seem a likely place for an Irish band, but Gillie has lived there since 1993. And Celtic Grove listeners by now are well aware of the rich Celtic musical heritage found in France, especially in the Breton areas.
Gillie's musical pedigree goes back to 1965 when she first joined the Ulster Folk Music Society. Since then she has composed music for Irish television, motion pictures and has toured with Donovan, Danny Thompson and Joe Cocker. Additionally she has performed Folk concerts with Ralph McTell, Pentangle, Don McLean, Steeleye Span, Ian Campbell, C.O.B, "Lindisfarne", John Prine, and Al Stewart.
